for beginners and advanced dancers
August 5th-12th, 2018


Morning classes:

          Playford Choreographies  with Niels Badenhop.

Newcomers to baroque dance and false beginners will be introduced to the basics of the style or freshen up their knowledge. Playford Dances like Fairy Queen will be danced with baroque steps to get to know the tradition of the art of courtly dancing of 17th Century England, while also enjoying the spirit and fun of the Country dances that delighted all social classes.

          The Rigadoon (1706)   with Pia Brocza

A couple dance for the ballroom by the english dancing master Mr. Isaac. This class is especially suitable for participants with a good basic knowledge of baroque dance who already know a coupé from a pas de bourrée!

The english dancing master Kellom Tomlinson choreographed beautiful and elaborate dances, that require training to accomplish and an advanced level in baroque dancing.

Afternoon classes:

          Technical Training    with Bernd Niedecken

It is possible to start the afternoon with an hour of working on posture, position of the feet, Port de bras...The lesson is open to all levels.        

           Masque    with Niels Badenhop, Pia Brocza or Bernd Niedecken

Each class works on part of an english Masque that mixes dancing with the theatrical. For the dancing there will be used and adapted parts of baroque choreographies, while the theatrical part is inspired by description of English Masques, but also by British Literature, Legends and Myth.

Timetable :

8 - 9 am: breakfast
9 am - 12 pm: morning classes
12:15 pm - 1:30 pm: lunch
2:30 - 3:30 pm: technical training
3:45 - 5:45 pm: afternoon classes
6 pm: dinner
After dinner, there will be different activities, e.g. Country Dancing.

No classes on Wednesday and Saturday afternoon. The ball will take place on Saturday evening.
