Soirée dansante "Colourful Autumn"

in the
Hall of Mirrors at Tanzschule Hernals, Kalvarienberggasse 28a, 1st floor, 1170 Vienna (Wien)

Start: 7 pm
Doors open from 6.30 pm

Der Nebel steigt, es fällt das Laub;
Schenk’ ein den Wein, den holden!
Wir wollen uns den grauen Tag
Vergolden, ja vergolden!

The mist is rising, the leaves are falling;
Pour us some wine, that sweet wine!
Let us turn this grey day
into gold, yes, into gold!

This is how the German poet Theodor Storm wrote about autumn – and we, too, want to celebrate the colourful season! The days are getting shorter, the evenings cooler – let the music not fall silent as nature (and humankind) awakens from its summer lethargy, and join us for an evening of 19th-century-style dancing!

We invite the harvest workers, the winemakers and farmers, as well as the ghostly figures wandering amongst the mist and shadows (or what was it we caught out of the corner of our eye?) just as the gentlefolk who are enjoying their long walks beneath the colourful leaves of the Vienna Woods!

The evening's program features music and dances from 1800 to 1900, from Regency to late Victorian, from the Viennese Biedermeier to Fin de Siècle.
