Metamorphoses - A Midsummer Night's Dream

Daily schedule:
7.45–8.45 am Breakfast
9.00 am–12.00 pm Dance classes (morning session)
12.15–1.30 pm Lunch
3.45–5.45 pm Dance classes (afternoon session)
6.00 pm Dinner

On some evenings, additional activities or entertainment will be offered (participation is, of course, optional): contra dancing, quizzes and a jointly organised "Students' Concert" (see below). Otherwise, the evenings are free for you to spend as you wish. The seminar rooms are also well-suited for making music in groups or rehearsing short theatrical performances, which can then be presented on Friday.

"Students' Concert" on Friday: A creative evening where course participants can put on short performances. Playing music, singing, dancing, theatrical scenes – there are virtually no limits to the imagination. The performances may tie in with the course theme, but they don’t have to.

On Saturday evening, we will bring our course week to a close with a costume ball in the Benediktussaal at Seitenstetten Abbey, featuring contra dances to live music and a buffet. Alongside historical costumes ranging from Baroque to Rococo – whether princely or rustic and simple – clever historical improvisations that fit the theme of our course week are also welcome; ancient mythological figures from Ovid’s "Metamorphoses" are just as welcome here as the goblins and elves of a midsummer night. Modern ball or everyday attire is not appropriate for this occasion, but: if you don’t have any costume ideas, you can contact us at any time; perhaps we can help out with a few simple, suitable items.

During breaks between lessons, the beautiful garden of the Bildungshaus is the perfect place to relax. The Baroque-style garden of Seitenstetten Abbey (Hofgarten) is a wonderful place for a stroll, and there are plenty of sunny and shaded spots here for a leisurely read or a rest. There are two afternoons free of lessons: Wednesday afternoon is free for leisure and relaxation, e.g. for an excursion to the beautiful historic towns of Steyr and Waidhofen an der Ybbs or to the green surroundings of Seitenstetten; Saturday afternoon is set aside for preparations for our prom.
