Metamorphoses - A Midsummer Night's Dream

Morning class

Pia’s morning class focuses on animal metamorphoses – drawing on Telemann’s “Grillen-Symphonie”, TWV 50:1. Based on choreography by Louis Guillaume Pécour, we will create an “insect-like” dance to the first two movements of this suite – somewhat lively and capricious!

Afternoon class

The ‘Cricket Symphony’ is also on the programme for the afternoon class, with a lively dance to the 3rd movement – presto!

Pia Brocza is a teacher of dance and elementary music, as well as a psychomotor therapist. During her training at the Vienna Conservatory, she first came into contact with historical dance and has since been intensively engaged with dance styles and reconstructions from the period between 1580 and 1850.
